Lights, sea creatures, and plenty more! I had the pleasure of going to the South Carolina Aquarium's Aglow event in downtown Charleston, SC with my husband and our close friends. Thousands of lights were on display throughout the Aquarium, many of which were themed - traditional, festive, and vibrant. On top of that they had a local, live musician playing some holiday classics. It was my first time attending the South Carolina Aquarium and it won't be the last.

Experience the South Carolina Aquarium

Each exhibit takes you through South Carolina's habitats as you trek your way through the multi-level aquarium. You see all kinds of plants, animals and of course cute sea critters! They give you a glimpse into the Mountain Forest, Piedmont, Coastal Plain, Coast, and of course, the Ocean.

The Shallow station even lets you observe and pet the cownose stingrays!

Not to mention, there are TONS of photo ops that anyone in your crew will most certainly enjoy.

Spot the Sea Turtles on Your Visit!

One of the big things that the Aquarium is known for is their philanthropic efforts. The South Carolina Aquarium is home to the Zucker Family Sea Turtle Recovery Center and Sea Turtle Hospital.

"All seven species of sea turtles are listed as threatened or endangered. This is a reflection of the growing issues surrounding coastal development and ocean conservation. To help ensure that sea turtles have a future in our oceans, the South Carolina Aquarium Sea Turtle Care Center™ aids sick and injured sea turtles in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR)." - scaquarium.org/sea-turtle-care-center/

Grand Palms Resort is committed to doing our part to help save the sea turtles. This is why we donate proceeds from our Build a Turtle activity to the South Carolina Aquarium and the Myrtle Beach Sea Turtle Rescue. These professionals rescue sea turtles, care for them in their state of the art facilities, and release them back into the wild once they are well enough to do so.
